Probiotic Search Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Probiotic Search mobile application available on iOS and Android.
Effective Date: March 21, 2026
Probiotic Search is designed to provide access to scientific literature related to probiotic organisms. The application is structured to minimize the collection and storage of personal data while enabling functional processing of user-entered search queries.
For information regarding the medical and informational limitations of this application, please refer to our Medical Disclaimer.
Information the App Processes
The application processes information entered directly by users when performing searches. This may include:
- Scientific terms
- Names of microorganisms
- Health conditions or symptoms
- Other biomedical or health-related search queries
These search queries may constitute health-related information.
Health-Related Data Processing
ProbioticSearch allows users to enter search queries that may include information related to diseases, medical conditions, microorganisms, or other health-related topics.
These search queries are treated as sensitive health-related data under applicable platform policies.
When a user performs a search:
• The entered query is transmitted securely to the ProbioticSearch backend server
• The backend processes the query solely to retrieve relevant scientific literature results
• Queries are processed in real time and are not used to identify individual users
• Queries are not used to create user profiles, medical records, or advertising audiences
Search queries may be temporarily processed in system memory and may appear in limited operational server logs (such as request timestamps or error diagnostics) necessary for system functionality, security, and reliability.
These technical logs are:
• Not used for user identification
• Not used for behavioral tracking or profiling
• Not shared with third parties for advertising purposes
• Retained only as necessary for operational and security purposes
ProbioticSearch does not provide medical advice and does not store persistent personal health records.
This information is processed solely to retrieve relevant scientific literature results.
Information the App Does Not Collect
Probiotic Search does not:
- Require user accounts or registration
- Collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information
- Access device contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location
- Use advertising identifiers
- Track users across apps or websites for advertising purposes
- Build behavioral profiles
- Create medical records
How Search Data Is Used
When a search is performed:
- The entered query is transmitted to the Probiotic Search backend server (api.markbrudnak.com)
- The server processes the query to retrieve relevant scientific literature
- Search queries are not linked to a user’s identity
- Search queries are not used for advertising, profiling, or analytics targeting
Search queries are processed solely for functional operation of the app.
Saved Searches
If users choose to save search results:
- Saved searches are stored locally on the user’s device
- Saved searches are not transmitted to the backend server
- Users may delete saved searches at any time by removing them within the app or uninstalling the application
Backend Server Processing
The backend server processes search queries that may include health-related information in order to return scientific literature results.
The backend:
- Does not maintain user accounts
- Does not intentionally collect personally identifiable information
- Does not sell or share user data
- Does not use data for advertising or profiling
Limited technical logs (such as request timestamps, IP address, and error logs) may be automatically generated for:
- System security
- Service reliability
- Performance monitoring
These logs are not used to identify individual users.
Data Retention
Probiotic Search does not maintain persistent personal data.
Operational technical logs are retained only as necessary for system operation, security, and troubleshooting, and are periodically deleted according to routine maintenance procedures.
Third-Party Services
The application retrieves scientific publication data from:
PubMed, operated by the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
Only user-entered search queries are transmitted to retrieve scientific results. No personally identifiable information is intentionally shared with PubMed.
Data Security
Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are implemented to protect system integrity and reduce risk of unauthorized access to operational data.
Children’s Privacy
Probiotic Search is not directed toward children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
User Data Deletion Requests
Because the application does not maintain user accounts or persistent personal data, most user data exists only locally on the user’s device.
Users may:
- Delete saved searches directly within the app
- Remove all locally stored data by uninstalling the application
If users wish to request deletion of technical operational logs that may be associated with their usage, they may contact:
Changes to This Policy
